Skincare for Different Skin Types

Dry Skin

Specialized Tips and Product Recommendations

This skin type is sensitive, and more attention needs to be paid both to the care at home and in winter when the air is very dry. Here are some tips and product recommendations to keep your dry skin healthy and hydrated:

  1. Use a Gentle Cleanser: Strong soaps wash off the skin natural oils thus causing dry skin to become even drier. It is best to invest in a mild cleanser that in some way preservers skin’s barrier that is responsible for moisture retention.

   – Recommended Products: CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser.

  1. Moisturize Immediately After Cleansing: Rub an intense moisturizing lotion with oily base onto the wet skin after the bath or shower.

   – Recommended Products: For skin repair, Eucerin Advanced Repair Cream and for dry skin Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion.

  1. Incorporate a Humectant Serum: Products like hyaluronic acid help to attract water to the skin and deliver intense moisture to the skin cells.

   – Recommended Products: The products include: Paula’s Choice Skincare –Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Serum.

  1. Use a Facial Oil: Oils can help to hydrate the skin and create another barrier that will prevent the skin from losing the moisture that has been applied to it.

   – Recommended Products: Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil, Josie Maran 100% Pure Argon Oil.

  1. Avoid Long, Hot Showers: Hot water washes away the skin natural oils leaving the skin bare. Substitute with warm water and, at most, shower for 10-15 minutes.

  1. Incorporate a Lightweight Moisturizer: Select a moisturizer labeled, ‘non-acnegenic’ or ‘non-comedogenic’, which means it won’t leave behind a layer of oil on your skin’s surface.
